Loving Dillard Farm and Art…

My favorite medium is charcoal, and the technique I like most is stippling because artists use it to show texture, which intrigues me. My favorite subject matter would most definitely be people/portraits. I can usually find a characteristic of my subject to focus on, making my pictures interesting.

My favorite artist is V. Van Gogh because of how he was able to make simple subjects look complex. The impasto technique, which has large strokes and vibrant colors, is what I enjoy most because of how he used it to create motion. For contemporary artists, I love Kehinde Wiley. Wiley places Black people in colorful, naturalistic backgrounds. My favorite art style is American Realism because I love looking at an artist’s interpretation of an everyday situation. My favorite art period or movement is Impressionism.
